Our Top 5 Footballer’s Cars of 2021
Our Top 5 Footballer’s Cars of 2021
When you’re some of the highest paid athletes in the world, earning hundreds of thousands in a base wage every week before any sponsorship or extra income, you must wonder what to spend your money on? Well, these football superstars put their money into incredibly rare, incredibly powerful and incredibly expensive supercars.
Having a tremendous amount of earning makes it possible to get exclusive models, models usually unavailable to the public or even cars sold at exclusive auctions. In a world of social media interactions, public relations and building up a reputation off the pitch as big as one on the pitch, cars are one way to become a massive talking point between your fans.
Just like many people compare on the pitch superstars for their football ability, footballers also get compared based on the cars in their garages. Here are five of our favourites:
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang- LaFerrarri, Price unknown.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the current Arsenal captain. This means part of his role at the club is to keep everyone together and be a mature head in the dressing room that leads by example. Well, he certainly leads by example in his car game.
In fact, the Gambian superstar boasts owning the most expensive car on the list, the star of Ferrari’s fleet itself, their amazing LaFerrari.
Known for his antics both on and off the pitch, it’s no surprise that car aficionado Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has one in his garage.
His past newsworthy stories include backflipping after scoring a goal, wearing a batman mask whilst playing for Borussia Dortmund in Germany and then wearing a Black Panther mask after scoring for his current club in North London.
His North London neighbour at Spurs, South Korean superstar Son Heung-min is also believed to own one in his car collection.
Only 499 were ever made, so it’s a real collector’s item- especially as two are almost certainly within miles of each other at their retrospective London pads.
Karim Benzema – Bugatti Chiron, Price $3.0 Million
The Real Madrid forward has an impeccable taste when it comes to lifestyle. He often posts incredibly high production value videos across his social media of extravagant houses, cars or holidays that he’s invested in. His latest purchase, a $3.0 million Buggatti Chiron, top speed is limited to 260 mph, while it’s capable to reach 0 – 62mph in an incredible 2.5 seconds.
He also owns a $1.9 million Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Urus and Mercedes Benz-SLR, meaning his Madrid garage is stocked to the brim of stunning super vehicles.
Now he’s back in the France set up at international level, it will be interesting to see which one he takes on international duty!
Cristiano Ronaldo – Bugatti La Voiture Noire, Price $18.6 Million
Being one of the best footballers in history is not enough for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Manchester United striker now owns the world’s most expensive cars ever made – the Bugatti La Voiture Noire.
There is slightly different to every other car on the list. The North London rivals can boast having 2 of 499 models, whilst Cristiano can boast having 1 of 1. That’s because this is the only one Bugatti La Voiture Noire in existence, which explains the ridiculously eyewatering price of the super car.
Lionel Messi – Ferrari 335 s Spider Scagialietti, Price $36 Million.
Competing with Ronaldo in what’s become football’s biggest debate, Leo Messi, now at PSG owns a stunning 1957 Ferrari 335 s Spider Scagialietti. Despite not being a 1 of 1, this is one of the rarest Ferraris in existence. To give you an idea of how it compares in its rarity, only four were ever made.
Lionel Messi bought this classic car off an auction in February 2016 whilst he was still a Barcelona player. The Ferrari is equipped with a 4.1 litre V12 engine, giving it an impressive 400 horse power.
I wonder how difficult the operation to move his supercar collection across the Spanish-French border was?
Sergio Ramos- Customized Fiat 600, Price £ 8,500
Regarded as one of the best defenders in the world, Sergio joined previous entry Lionel Messi at PSG this summer, once again crossing over from Spain – this time from rivals Real Madrid. Despite being reportedly one of the biggest earners on the planet and having an eyewatering signing on fee when he changed clubs, our favourite car in his collection is one that we could probably afford if we saved long enough!
Don’t be misunderstood, the Spanish defender still has an incredible car collection which worth more than 10 million Dollars. He boasts a wide collection of both modern luxury cars and older classics, our favourite of his is his burgundy classic Fiat 600. He received this car as a birthday present from his brother. The car is valued at just £ 8500 and despite its price, Ramos seemed over the moon with his gift, writing on his Instagram: “Classic cars never die” which we love.
With Ramos going for a much more affordable option, its important to remember that here at Car Finance Genie we offer great options for zero deposit car finance, so you can get your own classic car if you dream of one!
