Essex’s Biggest Motor Shows In 2022
One thing that you may or may not know about Car Finance Genie is that we are actually based in Essex – Brentford, to be exact. So, you shouldn’t be too surprised to learn that we have a lot of affection for our home county.

Yep, we’re referring to the motor shows that take place in this part of eastern England, and that are wider ranging than you might expect. To illustrate the point – and to give you and your family ample excuse to actually get out of the house during 2022 – here are our highlights among Essex’s fine motor shows set to take place this year.
Motorfest, Chelmsford
Did you know that Father’s Day falls on Sunday 19th June this year? For those who are unaware, this very special occasion for the dads in our lives occurs on the third Sunday in the month. And for this year’s Father’s Day, we don’t think you could do better than heading to Chelmsford for what has been termed “the biggest family day out in Essex”.
That’s a mighty claim to make – but with the likes of thrilling monster trucks, helicopter rides, and two-wheeled magicians on motorcycles all planned, not to mention dodgems, an outdoor cinema, and a shopping village, we reckon Motorfest might live up to that billing.
And of course, there will also simply be amazing show vehicles to marvel at, and even a ‘sound off’, just in case you were in any doubt that this really will be a motor show. We would suggest you grab your tickets online now for one or both days of the 18th to 19th June weekend.
Classic Car & Retro Show, Rochford
The exclusive manor-house wedding and events venue The Lawn isn’t open to the public very often, which might in itself be enough to lure you to Rochford on 26th June. But the beautiful Georgian property will be competing for your admiration with the many vintage and classic cars that are set to be showcased in the grounds as part of this exceedingly special event.
It’s another motor show in Essex this year that certainly won’t just be about the cars – we’re told that we can also expect vintage fashions, live music and dance demonstrations, kids’ fairground rides, and excellent food and drink.
That’s all the more reason for you to secure your tickets via the Classic Motor Events website now, or instead simply turn up on the day, for the chance to share your love for fine motoring in person with other enthusiasts.
The Big Barleylands Classic Motor Show & Family Fun Day, Billericay
There’s never all that much happening in Essex during September, is there? Well, no, we can’t agree with you there – not given the plans for the immensely successful Barleylands Classic Motor Show to return on Sunday 11th September 2022.
This is set to be another event with a real relaxed, family vibe, helped by the presence of a stage with live music performances, and a children’s fun area and rides. There will also be a licensed bar and street food, as well as – naturally – hundreds of classic and custom vehicles.
